michael wilmore-crumrine
Sergeant Wilmore-Crumrine is a founding member of the LGPOA and started with the Austin Police Department in 2001 where he graduated from the 102nd Police Academy. He has worked as a patrol officer and later promoted to detective where he worked in the Sex Crimes Unit. Sgt. Wilmore-Crumrine continued his investigative career in the Sex Offender Registration Unit (SOAR), and the Homicide Unit before promoting to sergeant. He is currently assigned to supervise the Child Abuse Unit.
Sgt. Wilmore-Crumrine has written and consulted nationally on the subject of intimate partner and sexual violence within the LGBTQIA+ community, detailing ways law enforcement can improve their response to victims.
Sgt. Wilmore-Crumrine also helped to create training and policies for the Austin Police Department concerning these investigations. Sgt. Wilmore-Crumrine attended the 2nd World Conference for LGBTQ Criminal Justice Professionals in Canada where he spoke on ways to improve relationships between the queer community and law enforcement.

Laura correa
Detective Correa is currently assigned to the Burglary Unit. Her last assignment as an officer was the Crisis Intervention Unit (CIT), which does mental health response and follow-ups for residents of Austin. Det. Correa provides mental and behavioral health response training to APD cadets and commissioned Officers.
Det. Correa loves being a part of the LGPOA and maintaining a friendly uniformed presence at community events.

In her time with Austin Police, Mandi Novak has worked patrol, in the Recruiting Unit and is now a detective. She is dedicated to serving Austin's diverse community.
Fun Fact: Det. Novak has a passion for rescuing animals!

Austin zarling
Officer Zarling is a dedicated law enforcement professional with over six years of experience in public safety and communication. Ofc. Zarling graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He began his career as a communications officer with the South Miami Police Department serving for two years and gaining vital experience in emergency response coordination.
Ofc. Zarling currently serves as a police officer with the Austin Police Department for over four years where he serves in the Downtown Area Command. He also specializes in LGBTQ+ community engagement, focusing on building trust, fostering inclusion, and strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the queer community.
